Overview

This Administrative Assistant position supports the College of Liberal Arts through a centralized administrative model, providing high-level operational, financial, and program support across multiple academic units as needed. The role serves as a primary point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and the public, while coordinating day-to-day administrative functions, communications, scheduling, and events. Assignments may shift based on college priorities and may include support for departments such as Theatre & Film, contributing to a dynamic and collaborative academic environment.

The candidate should have experience in supporting administrative and operational functions within complex organizations such as higher education or government. Skilled in coordinating communications, scheduling, documentation, events, and space logistics. Familiar with budget tracking, procurement, and financial processes. Proficient in standard office software and able to quickly learn enterprise systems (e.g., Banner or similar).
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and three years of progressively responsible administrative or office experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Position Details

This position is located on the Troth Yhedda campus in Fairbanks, Alaska. This is a full-time (9-months), on-site, non-exempt term staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
The University of Alaska reserves the right to require employees to work on-site at UA facilities. Hybrid and remote work may be approved for employees based in Alaska at the University's discretion. Remote work for employees based outside the State of Alaska may be approved only in exceptional circumstances or when required by the position's job duties.

Employment Conditions

This position is a term-funded position and is reviewed annually for contract renewal at the University's discretion.
