We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. Pay:
$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
General Purpose:
Conducts various tennis programs to include junior programs, lessons, special events, and clinics. Provides guidance to other tennis staff members.
Essential Duties:
Assists in supervising play and ensures proper charging of fees and rental of equipment
Initiates, promotes, and conducts tennis clinics, special events, and programs in an effort to attract and maintain members’ tennis interests
Provides beginning through advanced instruction (private and group) for all levels of players
Enforces all club rules and regulations governing the use of the club/facility, its equipment, and other property
Properly represents the club in state or national events as time permits
Works cooperatively with other departments to develop combined programs for the membership
Ensures proper usage and rental of the tennis ball machine
Performs racquet stringing
Ensures proper inspection of the courts/facilities on a daily basis prior to the start of play and ascertains that all necessary maintenance has been performed and the courts are in safe working order; reports any maintenance problems to the Department Manager or Maintenance Manager
Monitors court usage including special events, clinics, and lessons
Assists the department manager in interviewing, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; makes recommendations when hiring, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addresses complaints and resolves problems
Assists in the coordination of department members that may include, but are not limited to: Tennis Instructors
Assists the manager in communicating any changes or new policies and procedures to the department
Incorporates safe work practices in job performance
Regular and reliable attendance
Performs other duties as required
Education/Experience:
Associate’s degree (AA); or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Physical Demands:
Frequently stands, walks, uses hands, talks, hears, and reaches with hands and arms; climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls
Occasionally sits
Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds
Environment/Noise:
Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions
Noise level is moderate
Certificates/Licenses:
CPR and First Aid Certification
Teaching Certification (Tennis)
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g., associates may be required to communicate with English-speaking customers or co-workers; equipment manuals may be in English)
Possesses a U.S.T.A. rating of 5.0 or better
