Head Cheerleading Coach at Plano High School for the 2026-27 school year.
Successful candidate will:
Responsibilities
Plan for, manage, and monitor all aspects of the Plano High School Cheerleading Program
Develop a well-organized practice schedule that utilizes their staff at all levels
Maximize practice time for both individual, team, and program development
Develop a well-defined academic plan for all students to increase academic performance
Maintain timely management of paperwork requirements for the purposes of eligibility, registration, game scores, stats, records, etc.
Cooperate with the athletic and school administration to provide a quality Athletic experience for all athletes
Provide and plan for proper supervision of locker room, training room, and bus trips
Take an active role in the care of equipment, including issuance, collection, inventory, storage, and maintenance.
Communicate with administration about athletic equipment requests, budget needs, unusual events, etc.
Follow proper district procedure for the purchase of equipment and operate within the budget
Participate and plan for special events such as banquets, and recognize athletes for their accomplishments
Attend all-conference meetings and stay in compliance with IHSA requirements
Seek out professional development opportunities for themselves and their staff
Maintain communication with feeder coaches, college/university programs, parents, athletes, and the transportation department both within and outside the season
Provide a summer/offseason program to develop skills and strength
Qualifications
PEL or certified coach, substitute certification and/or ASEP certification required.
