
SY26/27 SPECIAL ED TEACHER (Barrett)

This position is a 1.0 FTE located at Barrett Elementary School
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implements instructional programs that meet the needs, interests and abilities of students using appropriate instructional materials
Maintains safe and orderly environment
Communicateswith parents/guardians
Maintains complete and accurate studentrecords
Collaborates with school administrators, other teachers, instructional assistants, parents, and community members
Monitors and assesses student achievement
Attends ongoing professional learning and meetings
EXPERIENCE:
Teaching experience in the above mentioned area
Knowledge of best instructional practices
Ability to integratetechnology
Experience in educational and instructional leadership
Dual endorsed preferred
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure in Special Education.
Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or any other content area, is preferred but not required.
SALARY:
Salary based on our APS 2026-27 T-Scale salary schedule.
