Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
Customer Experience & Hospitality
Greet and engage guests warmly, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment
Deliver attentive, friendly, and solution‑oriented customer service
Represent Kuppa Joy’s values through professionalism, teamwork, and attitude
Resolve guest concerns respectfully and elevate when appropriate
Coffee & Beverage Excellence
Prepare coffee, espresso, and specialty beverages according to company recipes and quality standards
Maintain accuracy and consistency in drink preparation
Demonstrate willingness to learn about coffee, brewing methods, and product knowledge
Operations & Teamwork
Operate POS/register systems accurately and responsibly
Follow all cash handling and register procedures
Support team members during peak periods to ensure smooth café operations
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, café areas, and equipment
Compliance & Standards
Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
Adhere to company policies outlined in the Employee Handbook
Complete required trainings and certifications in a timely manner
Physical & Scheduling Requirements (Essential Functions)
Stand for extended periods of time
Perform repetitive tasks
Lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds
Work in a fast‑paced café environment
Qualifications & Attributes
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
Strong customer service and communication skills
A positive, approachable, and professional demeanor
Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail
Coachability and openness to feedback
Ability to adapt in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
Organizational skills and a logical approach to problem solving
A genuine desire to grow and improve
Availability
Minimum availability of 25 hours per week
Availability on Saturdays, weekends, and holidays as required
Requirements
California Food Handler Certification (must obtain upon hire)
Completion of pre‑employment assessments (sent via email)
Participation in a video interview as part of the hiring process
Compensation & Benefits
$16.90 – $21.00/hour plus tips
Closed on Sundays
