Effectively manages assignments and priorities to ensure the fulfillment of projects, tasks, and responsibilities**EMERGENCY RESPONSE STATUS**: As a condition of employment, City of Largo employees will be required to work as directed during an undeclared and/or a declared emergency. One year experience in the operation of commercial vehicles requiring a Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** •
Knowledge of traffic rules and regulations•
Knowledge of the operation of commercial vehicles requiring a Florida Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B•
Knowledge of the hazards of operation and of appropriate safety rules and regulations•
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instruction and to work independently in the performance of regular duties•
Basic computer and/or tablet skills for effective operation and troubleshooting of routing equipment**Physical Requirements:** The job’s essential functions require: sitting, standing, and walking eight (8) or ten (10) hours per day. The work requires frequent: bending/stooping, climbing (ladder and stairs), crawling, fine manipulations, grasping, kneeling, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and occasional lifting/carrying objects weighing over 50 pounds.1. Roll-off: 53 inches from ground to floor of cab with two steps. Climbing in and out of cab numerous times a day (56 inches from ground to floor of cab). Driving, sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting, pulling, pushing, service open top and compactor roll-off containers. Ability to work in confined spaces when connecting and disconnecting the hoist lift cable, hoses, and electrical cables. Heavy pushing and pulling to open and close container doors for servicing. Washing truck and the end of the day with a scrub brush and pressure washer.**Sensory Requirements:** Hearing: Ability to understand what others are saying in normal conversation in person and on the telephone. Speaking: Ability to communicate orally in person and on the phone. Seeing: Ability to safely operate equipment, vehicles, and tools using close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus. Ability to read standard print on a computer monitor, routing devices, tablets, and street/road signs.**Driving Requirements:** The work requires frequent driving and possession of a valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License with endorsements depending on specific assignment.**Other Machines:** The work requires the ability to operate roll-off trucks, claw trucks, front-loader, rear-loader, and automated side-loader.**Other:** The work requires proficiency with the City radio, routing devices and tablets, shovels, rakes, and brooms.The City of Largo is an exceptional place to work and live!
