Job Summary

– Regularly performs the full range and scope of housekeeping services at a Navy Gateway Inn and Suites and/or Navy Lodge property. Duties include cleaning guest rooms, interior public spaces, storage areas, laundry rooms, outer areas, etc. Tasks involve vacuuming, mopping, dusting, scrubbing, washing, moving items, polishing, removing debris, trash handling, transporting clean and dirty linen, towels, and using hand and powered cleaning equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities

Clean guest rooms and assigned areas; operates cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaners, waxers, and polishers.
Empty wastebaskets, dust, wax, and polish room furniture; wash walls, partitions, air vents; disinfect, deodorize toilet bowls and lavatories.
Clean windows, ceiling fixtures; change light bulbs; use ladders and scaffolds to clean under and behind furniture.
Wash and replace window treatments; clean bathroom areas including tubs, tiles, walls, commodes, floors, and vanity.
Clean kitchen areas including stoves, ovens, microwave, refrigerator, cabinets and floor; wash and disinfect dishes, utensils, cookware.
Maintain luggage racks and hangers; ensure TVs, alarm clocks, and in‑room phones are clean, programmed, and operational.
Place amenities in rooms; move and reposition beds; greet and welcome guests with outstanding guest relations; maintain privacy and security.
Vacuum and mop corridors, stairways, guest laundry, patios, balconies; shampoo rugs and carpets and polish rails on a regular basis.
Perform deep cleaning on scheduled basis, especially for pet‑friendly or ADA service animal rooms (defrost refrigerator, clean windows inside and out, carpet cleaning, spot treatment).
Maintain cleanliness of storage rooms; communicate status of cleaned rooms to supervisor; report equipment maintenance needs.
Clean and inspect exterior spaces such as parking lots and outside passageways; load/unload trucks and assist with receipt of supplies from vendors.
Apply common hand tools (hammers, pliers, box cutters, crowbars, shears) for cutting and assembly tasks.
Handle keys responsibly; report lost and found items; set‑up and break‑down of the complimentary self‑service breakfast bar.
Complete all required safety and security training; maintain a clean and safe environment; apply knowledge of blood‑borne pathogens safety measures.
Perform laundry operations; possess a valid state driver’s license if required to travel; obtain NHG housekeeping certification within 6 months.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

– No experience required. High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Physical Requirements

– Moderate physical effort, moving furniture and using hand or lightweight powered cleaning equipment.
