Location: Lord Baltimore Elementary School
Is able to meet the minimum physical requirements of the job including climbing a ladder to a minimum of 12 feet and to lift 50 lbs and carry it for 50 feet.
Demonstrates the ability to review and understand oral and written instructions and/or directions.
Displays the ability to cooperate with school personnel.
Holds and maintains a valid motor vehicle operator's license.
Employee will be required to work in-person/in the building for the position
Clean Criminal Background Check, TB Test, and Child Protection Registry Clearance must be completed prior to Start of Employment.
Performance Responsibilities
Cleans walls, floors, carpets and other interior building components by mopping, scrubbing, waxing, shampooing or vacuuming.
Dusts and polishes furniture and fixtures.
Performs basic carpentry, painting, and glazing repairs.
Washes windows.
Empties and cleans wastebaskets and garbage containers. Transports trash to the disposal area.
Disinfects bathrooms, replenishes soap and paper supplies.
Moves and arranges furniture, hangs drapes and window shades.
Operates a variety of custodial equipment such as wet/dry mops and vacuums, scrubbers, carpet shampooers, buffers and lawn equipment.
May sweep sidewalks and patios and shovel snow.
Cuts grass and maintain grounds as necessary.
Operates motor vehicles – picks up and delivers a variety of supplies.
Ability to interact positively and appropriately with school administrators and students.
Represents the school and the school district in an ethical and professional manner at all times.
Adheres to all policies and procedures of the Indian River School District as established by the Board of Education and the Superintendent.
Practices and demonstrates safe work habits.
Demonstrates good judgment in the proper use and storage of chemicals and other work related supplies.
Attends custodial training classes as may be required.
Performs other assigned duties as may be required.
