
CAD Technician III - Public Sector

The Role
The Computer -Aided Design (CAD) Technician III – is responsible for maintaining all geographical and program‑specific databases as well as producing high‑quality mapping products. This position requires the selected candidate to work onsite at our Herndon VA office 5 days/week.

The Main Responsibilities
Updates, creates, and reviews design and as‑built CAD drawings to ensure standards and accuracy are followed
Serves as the primary point of contact for producing deliverables, Geographical Information Systems (GIS) maps, and requests for data from the Network Infrastructure Database (NID) and other mapping data sources
Researches, assesses and collects geographic data for updating and maintaining background and base layer maps
Produces and maintains ArcView Shapefiles, Google Earth .kml/.kmz files, and spatial database data for internal and Program Office use
What We Look For in a Candidate
Position requires proficiency using GIS software such as ESRI ArcMap
Must be able to create and modify shapefiles and KML/KMZ files
Education and Experience:
BS, certificate or equivalent work experience (4 years mapping or similar discipline)
Experience using Oracle / Access databases, SpatialNet & Safe FME preferred
Security Requirements
Candidate must have the ability to obtain a Top Secret w/SCI clearance. Must maintain eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Compensation
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
Location Based Pay Ranges
$79,613 - $106,150 in these states: VA
