Job Description
DCTS is seeking an industry professional and/or PA State Certified Welding teacher to teach Welding Technology in our high school program.
Responsibilities
Teach students oxy‑fuel gas cutting principles and practices, arc cutting principles and practices, and welding inspection and testing principles.
Teach welding technology, including welding all positions, interpreting blueprints, and completing projects from cutting to tacking to full completion.
Teach precision cuts in steel plates using superheated gases and explain how steel is formed from liquid to solid.
Provide hands‑on training in a variety of welding procedures including shielded metal arc welding (STICK), gas metal arc welding (MIG), flux cored arc welding (FCAW) and gas tungsten arc welding (TIG).
Teach proper use of equipment for testing welds, destruction, and hardness testing, and train students in reading manuals and specification charts.
Teach use of grinders, chemical baths for surface cleaning, proper clamping techniques, and welding standards established by the American Welding Society.
Supervise students in the classroom and other assigned areas, develop lesson plans, deliver group and individual instruction, and collaborate with other teachers, staff, and administrators to address instructional or classroom issues.
Respond to inquiries from students’ parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress.
Qualifications
Appropriate certificate as directed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Minimum four years of full‑time, wage‑earning work experience.
Experience or working knowledge in the areas described above.

$58,854 Per Year (commensurate with education and work experience)
