Food Service Kitchen Helper ECC
9:30 AM – 1:00 PM, 4 days per week (Monday – Thursday)

Summary
Assist in the preparation and serving of food to students and staff in a quick and professional manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform daily food preparation as assigned, including salad making, sandwich making, deli slicing, cookies, pretzels, etc.
Implement H.A.C.C.P. procedures as requested.
Assist with the daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment and ensure cleanliness and sanitation conditions are met.
Set up and break down serving lines (salad bar, hot food, a la carte, etc.).
Operate all equipment, POS/cash register, count money, make change, and reconcile bank deposit and daily paperwork.
Work professionally with both students and staff.
Know reimbursable lunch requirements and identify reimbursable lunches.
Participate, as requested by the Director of Food Service, in workshops or in‑service training programs to improve skills.
Perform other similar duties as may be requested by the Head Cook and/or Director of Food Service.
Education and Experience
Successful completion of certification for Applied Food Service Sanitation Course taken through statewide or local training. High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Previous experience with large‑scale cooking and food preparation/serving.
Other Skills and Abilities
Ability to pass an entry‑level aptitude test.
Ability to work in a friendly manner with co‑workers and students.
