Environmental Monitoring (EM) Associate
Job Description
Responsible for monitoring biological and airborne particulate levels in clean room environments for the purpose of preparation, compounding and production of sterile injectable drug products. Duties include:
Collect and process environmental and product samples within ISO 8 cleanroom environments during extended shifts.
Perform gown sampling, area clearance and product sampling in accordance with GMP standards.
Operate environmental monitoring equipment and associated software such as MODA to compile and manage sample data.
Maintain equipment readiness and report any deviations promptly.
Prepare and sterilize sampling supplies using autoclaves.
Verify and incubate environmental samples while ensuring accurate documentation.
Enter and verify sample data using MODA and other EM systems, maintaining high standards of data integrity.
Read, understand and follow applicable SOPs and maintain current SOP training status.
Obtain and maintain aseptic gowning certification, demonstrating proper gowning technique.
Assist in requalification sampling and media fill qualification processes as directed.
Follow badge access protocols for smock and coverall use and respond appropriately to alarms in cleanroom environments.
Qualifications
At least 1 year of pharmaceutical or laboratory experience.
Strong work ethic and willingness to work overtime.
Knowledge of cGMP practices, operation of autoclaves and aseptic technique.
Basic computer skills including MS Word, Excel and other software applications.
Ability to read and understand detailed procedures independently.
Ability to write clear, accurate memos using correct spelling, punctuation and grammar.
Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity to perform aseptic gowning and sampling tasks.
Physical capability to lift 25 lbs unassisted and perform prolonged standing, twisting and prolonged sitting.
Maintain high personal hygiene; no open wounds or cosmetic products allowed in aseptic environments.
Exposure to allergens and ability to work in confined spaces required.
Location and Shift
Location:
Spokane, WA – On site, full‑time.
Shift:
Weekday nights – Monday to Wednesday end of day, Thursday 6 PM to 6 AM.
Compensation & Benefits
Hiring Wage:
$25 per hour with a 10 percent shift differential; opportunities for growth, promotion and annual raises.
