Job Summary
Coordinate the planning and implementation of station operation, acting as the interface with Power Generation Technical Services, SOC, Telecommunications, the Substation and Relay Groups, Outside Contractors, and others. Oversee the implementation of the operations portion of major station outages and large projects. Lead in prioritizing, planning, and implementation of short‑term outages and small projects. Implement project work efforts that affect multiple station areas, coordinate operation and maintenance functions, and prioritize work as station operational needs change. Provide operational and technical advice to management, coordinate the availability of station operating equipment with production supervision, and support the business plan through problem analysis, effective recommendations, budget adherence, and other station business objectives.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
5–6+ years of operating equipment and safe work procedures
Knowledge of applicable rules and regulations for environmental controls and other regulatory authorities
Proficiency in mathematical calculations, logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or resolution of problems
Good oral and written communication and planning skills
Ability to interpret plant drawings and diagrams to determine how to safely and effectively isolate equipment for maintenance work
Ability to weigh costs and benefits and take appropriate action
Ability to monitor equipment gauges and assess critical equipment operating parameters
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree, with engineering preferred (other disciplines may be substituted).
Licenses, Certifications, or Qualifications
Physical capability to climb to heights up to 250 feet or greater and work in confined spaces
Body weight not to exceed 265 lbs as required by safety regulations
Pass a physical examination administered by a medical practitioner to ensure ability to safely perform job functions and meet the physical demands of the position
