Opportunity Overview
The position is responsible for performing the eight steps of sanitation. A general understanding and compliance with all food safety and safety policies and procedures is required. The position requires an understanding of how to work with necessary chemicals, work in a timely manner to deliver a clean and sanitary plant to production, and abide by company policies, creed, and values, including satisfactory attendance. This position is also responsible for understanding related Quality Management Systems including SQF, HACCP, and GMP to ensure safety and quality of employees and products. The job duties include responsibility for assuring food safety and for food quality for SRO products. A supervisor or other person of authority should be notified if any issues or threats to food safety or food quality are observed.

What You’ll Do Everyday

Wear appropriate personnel protective equipment (PPE) and follow established GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) policies and procedures.

Work cooperatively with other sanitation employees and employees from other departments.

Follow sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) including eight steps of sanitation.

Frequently lift hoses, equipment and chemical containers, etc.

Able to learn how to clean and sanitize food production equipment and environment.

Perform all work duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For

Basic knowledge on Food Safety and Quality

Must have reliable transportation

Must have a flexible schedule which includes availability to work overtime. Mandatory presence for the end of week deep cleaning.

Must have a minimal ability to read and write in English

Follow GMP and maintains good personal hygien

The position involves standing/walking on feet for at least 8 hours per day. Also include but not limited to stoop, kneel, bend, use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.

Able to work in hot, cold, wet, and dry environment.

Adaptable and accountable for his/her own actions.

Ability to take direction from lead, supervisors, and managers

Able to stay focused in a loud, fast paced working environment

Employee must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds.

Follow all safety procedures

Work with chemicals.
