Custodian
An employee in this position performs routine, manual work cleaning and maintaining buildings. The employee also controls building heating and air conditioning equipment. The employee performs recurring tasks according to established practices and cleaning schedules. When problems arise, the employee refers them to a lead worker or supervisor. Errors are revealed by inspection of work and are not likely to result in loss of time or resources. Supervision is direct with frequent inspections to assure completion of assignments in accordance with instructions and standards of cleanliness.

Scrubs, dusts, sweeps, mops, vacuums, waxes, and polishes floors in rooms, hallways, and closets
Dusts and arranges furniture
Washes windows, woodwork, walls, and other surfaces
Scrubs and cleans restroom fixtures
Replenishes tissue, towels, and soap in restrooms, kitchens, and classroom facilities
Empties wastebaskets and other trash receptacles
Locks and unlocks doors
Sorts and stores material for recycling program
Reports to supervisor any damages or needed repairs
Picks up paper and other trash in school building or on school grounds
Turns heating and air conditioning equipment on and off
Cleans restroom areas and replenishes soap as necessary
Pay
Pay Grade 51: $15.00 - $18.45 per hour (based on 0-30 years of experience in a school system). 12-month position. Full‑time.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Custodial Experience Preferred
Floor Technician
Must be willing and eligible to receive a Bus License and drive at the request of the school system.
