Infant Toddler Teacher (Early Head Start Program)
Location: 196 South Meadow Road, Plymouth, MA
Hours: 37.50 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, Monday to Friday 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (No nights or weekends)
Salary: Base hourly rate with CDA $24.36/hr., AA/AS $25.37/hr., BA/BS $27.40/hr. Competitive pay commensurate with education, licenses, and experience. Employee retention bonus $1,000 (taxable) after 90 consecutive days employment.
Core Responsibilities
Provide infants and toddlers with a nurturing, safe, and healthy environment to help them develop socially, intellectually, physically, and emotionally in a manner appropriate to their age and stage of development, in relationship to the overall goal of social competency. Perform teaching activities in accordance with the Early Head Start Performance Standards, while assuming a lead role in the classroom.
Involve parents in the educational aspects of the program to increase their knowledge and understanding of skills and experiences in child growth, education, and development, specifically with infants and toddlers. Assist with meal preparation and other activities as assigned.
Core Qualifications
Minimum Massachusetts Infant Toddler Teacher Certification and associate or bachelor’s degree in early childhood (or related field) preferred, or a CDA required as minimum education requirement. Bilingual (Portuguese, Arabic, Spanish, or Creole) helpful although not required. Experience with birth-3 years population. Must be able to speak and understand English.
Minimum Requirements at employment:
All candidates must undergo a CORI, DCF, SORI, and fingerprint background check prior to beginning employment.
Valid MA state driver’s license.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
