Responsibilities
Position Summary:

This position is responsible for day-to-day operations in Barberton’s Cast House. The role: provides administrative support to department and works to ensure BU metric goals are met (Safety, Quality, Production)

Accomplishes manufacturing results by:

communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results

coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees

initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages the activities of assigned employees. Conducts training, recommends adjustments to pay, completes performance appraisals, initiates timely corrective action, as appropriate (including attendance/tardiness).

Ensures the safety of all personnel working in or around department on all shifts

Places a high priority on coaching employees by establishing suitable goals, action plans and timelines.

Delegates and provides ongoing guidance and support to the employees as they complete their action plans.

Acts as a role model and mentor for direction and development of employees

Ensures employees have appropriate and realistic job goals by providing ongoing feedback about the employee's performance

Troubleshoot issues interfering with production.

Assists with problem solving and utilizing corrective action measures to prevent problem reoccurrence.

Schedules machines and set‑ups in coordination with Plant Manager and supply chain to ensure that production quotas are met in the most efficient manner possible.

Works to maintain the quality of the product being produced in the department on all shifts so that product meets quality standards.

Verifies and dispositions questionable product to determine acceptability. Ensures that all assigned quality requirements are met.

Coordinates with production to schedule quality inspection personnel to ensure proper quality support.

Approves and submits hours for payroll

Additional Duties:

Enters work requests into the system

Oversees 5S activities for assigned shift

Assists the Engineering Department in finding the best possible tooling and processing methods to ensure product quality and process efficiency.

Standing/Walking:

80% or more of workday

Bending/Twisting:

20% or more of workday

Temperature Extremes (percent of time working in non-climate controlled, production environment):

Frequently (50% - 80% of workday)

Noise:

Hearing protection required at all times in shop and on production floor

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.

Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience.

Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

Experience in a manufacturing environment

Previous foundry experience
