Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, Discovery

340B Health, California, MO, United States

Job Summary
Geisinger is operationalizing AI at scale across one of the nation's most integrated health systems, moving beyond pilots and proof of concepts to build capabilities that change how care is delivered and how operations run. This role works across clinical, operational, health plan, and pharmacy functions alongside AI product development and organizational leadership to identify and advance the AI opportunities that matter most. The analyst will provide the analytical foundation that makes good AI investment decisions possible, from sizing what is worth building next to supporting the external partnership evaluations that expand Geisinger AI capabilities. Embedded within Geisinger AI Discovery and Strategy function, you will build the quantitative case for which AI opportunities deserve investment, size the potential value of what the organization is considering, and provide the analytical grounding that keeps discovery work honest. You will work alongside product managers and organizational leaders across clinical, operational, health plan, and pharmacy domains, and your findings will directly inform what gets built and which partnerships get pursued.

Key Responsibilities

Do the portfolio level analysis that tells the discovery team where to focus next, identifying where the biggest clinical and operational gaps exist and which AI opportunity areas have the strongest evidence for investment.

Work directly with clinical, operational, health plan, and pharmacy leaders across Geisinger to understand strategic priorities, surface data driven insights, and help shape where discovery energy gets directed.

Size opportunities that have never been sized before, building quantitative business cases from messy, incomplete data and turning them into the evidence that determines whether an idea moves forward.

Benchmark Geisinger performance against peer health systems and external data sources to identify where the organization has the most to gain and where the market is moving.

Design measurement frameworks for early stage pilots from scratch, ensuring that every initiative the team pursues is set up to generate real learning rather than just activity.

Produce clear, compelling analytical narratives and visualizations that translate complex findings into strategic recommendations leadership can act on.

Collaborate with analysts across the AI portfolio to share methods, data assets, and reusable components that raise the quality of analytical work across the function.

Required Qualifications

5 or more years of experience in business intelligence, healthcare analytics, or strategy analytics.

Strong proficiency in SQL with experience accessing Epic Clarity, Caboodle, or similar clinical data repositories.

Demonstrated ability to build compelling data visualizations in Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent tools.

Experience developing business cases, ROI models, or opportunity sizing frameworks in a healthcare or technology context.

Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce polished analytical narratives and supporting documentation.

Ability to manage ambiguity and move effectively between exploratory analysis and structured deliverables.

Bachelor’s degree in data science, informatics, finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience supporting AI or innovation functions within a health system or digital health organization.

Familiarity with clinical quality metrics, coding capture, throughput analytics, or revenue cycle KPIs.

Experience contributing to vendor RFI or RFP evaluation processes.

Exposure to statistical modeling or predictive analytics in addition to descriptive BI.
