POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for Journeyworkers who can take on both welding and pipefitter responsibilities as needed to join our team in Denver, CO. This is a combo role requiring a well‑rounded professional with strong experience in both disciplines. The ideal candidate will be flexible, dependable, and capable of bouncing between plumbing and pipefitting tasks based on project demands.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Comprehensive knowledge of multiple plumbing system applications: Waste and Vent, Storm, Domestic Water, Compressed Air, Condensate Drain, Natural Gas, Process Utilities, Fixtures and Pumps.

Comprehensive knowledge of multiple piping material applications: Steel/carbon pipe, Copper Pipe, PVC/PCV pipe, Poly Pipe, Stainless Steel pipe and Aluminum pipe, including piping layout.

Comprehensive knowledge of multiple plumbing material applications: Steel/carbon pipe, Copper Pipe, PVC/PCV pipe, Poly Pipe applications, Stainless Steel pipe and Aluminum pipe.

Receives direct supervision and performs technical responsibilities.

Coordinates own tasks with a specific range of responsibilities under established procedures.

Contributes to a team under general supervision of an experienced professional or manager.

Skilled specialist that demonstrates reliable judgment in resolving issues and making recommendations.

Promotes a positive learning environment in mentoring and directing apprentices.

Understand and implement lockout/tag‑out procedures for safe and secure tasks.

Performs testing, inspecting, and recording for all rough‑in installations as required by building codes and project specifications.

Maintains all tools and equipment in serviceable condition.

Uses materials and other resources conservatively to promote project success and profitability.

Participates in the orientation of new partners on the job site.

Installs all systems and products per code, specifications, submittals, and contract documents.

Provides applicable input promptly to maintain current “As‑Built” record drawings.

Demonstrates understanding of McCarthy Safety Guidelines and Procedures.

Offers a $1.00 increase to base pay if licensed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Licensed pipefitter

Welding certifications

Ability to pass a pre‑employment plumbing exam

Experience with copper, PVC and cast‑iron installations and piping

S teamfitters license a plus but not required.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in plumbing and pipefitting.

Experience with refrigerant piping and medical gas preferred.

Med Gas Certification preferred but not required.

Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.

Ability to accurately layout building systems.

Management and ability to train apprentice tradesmen.

Ability to create a safe working environment, and understands OSHA regulations.

Ability to take off and communicate tool and material requirements to the supervisor.

Ability to set up and perform plumbing tests.

Ability to identify potential issues during installation and elevate them to Foreman/Gen Foreman.

Basic understanding of IPC and UPC building codes.

Must have own hand tools.

Must have reliable transportation to job‑site.

Self‑motivated with the ability to work well with others.

Good problem‑solving skills.

Pay rate is determined on current level of knowledge and experience.
