Job Overview
Starkey is hiring a Sr Strategic Sourcing Manager for Mechanical & Supplier Programs at its global headquarters in Eden Prairie, MN. This dual‑focus positioning is accountable for managing the mechanical direct materials portfolio while serving as the central program manager for key supply management operational processes. The role owns mechanical category strategy, segmentation, and consolidation to address tail‑spend and fragmented suppliers, while simultaneously managing enterprise‑level supplier programs including savings governance, risk reviews, diverse/veteran spend reporting, and ESG coordination. The position requires strong analytical capabilities, stakeholder management, and the ability to operate effectively across multiple concurrent workstreams to drive strategic sourcing activities and maintain best‑in‑class processes, metrics, and reporting systems.
Job Responsibilities
Own mechanical category strategy, segmentation, and supplier consolidation initiatives to reduce fragmentation and create efficiency across tail‑spend suppliers.
Lead strategic sourcing events (RFP/RFI/RFQ) and negotiations for mechanical components, leveraging market research and benchmarking to identify cost savings and alternate sources.
Partner with Engineering and NPI teams to influence specifications, standardization efforts, and design‑for‑cost initiatives that drive total cost of ownership (TCO) improvements.
Conduct supplier business reviews and relationship management for mechanical suppliers, addressing quality, delivery, cost, and technology roadmaps.
Maintain and improve best‑in‑class sourcing processes and systems including supplier selection, segmentation, risk management, contract management; identify and drive continuous improvement.
Manage savings hopper intake, tracking, and reporting processes; maintain and improve cost savings tracking database and communication of productivity savings pipeline.
Facilitate and coordinate supplier segmentation and risk management processes, including supplier risk assessments and action plans.
Own diverse and veteran‑owned supplier reporting and tracking.
Own supplier sustainability and ESG program execution; drive implementation of supply chain emissions tracking, supplier assessments, and compliance reporting for supply chain regulations.
Prepare and coordinate supplier performance data for Supplier Business Reviews; maintain and improve supplier metrics/scorecard processes and create automated reports and analytics dashboards.
Lead and support key strategic sourcing initiatives and annual Strategic Sourcing strategy deployment activities.
Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or other technically related field.
5–7 years of sourcing, category management, procurement, or supply chain experience.
2+ years of experience with mechanical components, manufacturing suppliers, or direct materials sourcing.
2+ years of consistently driving productivity savings and cost reduction initiatives.
Experience sourcing data from PLM and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle), and assembling useful scorecards, reports, and analytics dashboards (Power BI experience preferred).
2+ years of program/project management experience with small to mid‑size projects.
Working knowledge of supply chain ESG frameworks, Scope 3 emissions tracking, and supplier sustainability assessment methodologies preferred.
Knowledge & Technical Requirements
Strong mentality of working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Robust understanding of supplier engagement and management best practices, including supplier segmentation and risk management.
Experience in data mining, analysis, and reporting; ability to convert raw data into actionable insights.
Knowledge of ESG frameworks, sustainability metrics, and supplier diversity reporting requirements.
Strong leadership traits including superior communication, presentation and influencing skills.
Proven ability to take charge, deliver results, effectively build relationships both internal and external and communicate well with all organizational levels.
Ability to operate strategically, while understanding the tactical implications of decisions.
Strong negotiations, problem‑solving, analytical skills, and financial acumen.

The target rate for this position is between $126,280 to $141,750 per year. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
