Reporting to the relevant senior leader, this role is accountable for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of all Hamilton Island fleet assets. You’ll lead workshop operations, drive strong team performance, and ensure maintenance systems and processes are effective, delivering high levels of fleet availability to support island operations.

Where you’ll make an impact
Lead and manage workshop operations to ensure efficient and effective maintenance of all fleet assets
Ensure all assets are maintained, serviced, and repaired in line with manufacturer and industry standards
Oversee maintenance planning and scheduling to maximise fleet availability and minimise downtime
Maintain and optimise asset management systems, ensuring all work is accurately recorded and tracked
Ensure all regulatory inspections are completed on time and any defects are rectified within required timeframes
Monitor outstanding maintenance tasks and drive timely completion
Implement and maintain best practice fleet management systems and processes
Ensure all staff are trained, licensed, competent, and performing to required standards
Drive a strong safety culture, ensuring all activities comply with WHS legislation and organisational requirements
Conduct audits to ensure quality control of servicing and repairs
Manage stock levels and workshop equipment compliance
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders through clear, proactive communication
Lead, coach, and develop your team to foster a positive and high-performing culture
What we’re looking for
You’re an experienced Fleet Manager or Workshop Leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and takes ownership of outcomes. You bring strong leadership capability, a hands‑on mindset, and the ability to balance operational demands with safety, compliance, and customer service.
You’re adaptable, solutions-focused, and confident managing a diverse fleet, with the ability to lead people, improve systems, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
To be successful, you’ll need
Proven leadership experience in fleet or workshop operations
Strong knowledge across light and heavy vehicles, mobile plant, marine assets, and specialised equipment
Experience with maintenance planning, asset management systems, and workshop coordination
Demonstrated ability to manage teams, performance, and operational priorities
Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement
Relevant trade or mechanical background highly regarded
