What We’re Looking For
As a Supervisor, Tooling for Kohler Co., you will oversee and supervise hourly associates engaged in the repair and setting of all compression tooling. In this role, you will be expected to meet posted production schedules and metrics while also ensuring quality, safety, and cost standards are met.
Your Responsibilities
Assign labor force to appropriate tasks in line with efficient staffing needs and scheduling requirements
Ensure that all process and quality specifications are followed
Monitor results and ensure that performance expectations are met
Maintain detailed knowledge of process and equipment to achieve optimum efficiency
Ensure that all shift associates are adequately trained in the necessary process procedures to accomplish assignments efficiently
Manage, train, and provide daily feedback to all associates, including non‑compliant and under‑performing associates; resolve associate conflicts as they arise
Coach associates throughout each shift, lead team meetings, and consistently foster a collaborative and engaging team environment
Hold or participate in monthly safety meetings with shift associates to communicate the importance of safe work practices; monitor and enforce all safety rules
Administer plant rules and effectively handle appropriate discipline, when necessary
Continuously strive to improve process, process equipment, and procedures
Role model and encourage shift associates on process and continuous improvement methodologies using lean manufacturing concepts and the Kohler Operating System (KOS)
Understand and enforce all procedures related to safe handling of hazardous materials and instruct subordinates in the same
Maintain training on all SOPs, LOPs, policies and procedures
Skills / Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a business or manufacturing‑related field preferred; equivalent years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
3+ years working in a supervisory or lead role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
2+ years working in a high‑volume manufacturing or distribution environment
Experience with common manufacturing software (SAP, Time & Attendance platforms, etc.) is desirable
Proficient in use of all common computer Microsoft Office software applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
The flexibility to change shifts as the plant moves into future phases of production and operability
Employment will be subject to a drug screen and background check
Employment will be subject to a demonstrated maintenance competency via a standardized knowledge check
Some travel for the purposes of training, ongoing development, and business exposure may be required
15% travel
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $75,350 - $114,450. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation.
