The Role
Project Manager responsible for managing all aspects of assigned projects to assure timely implementation of all project deliverables and manage client expectations through regular communication. Will also integrate technology into project delivery to drive growth and revenue for the Xylem Vue division.
Core Responsibilities
Author and maintain project plans, charters, statements of work, work breakdown structures, risk mitigation plans, quality plans, and system acceptance test plans.
Manage project change orders, contract administration, and drive internal stakeholders for project deliverables.
Perform monthly budget reconciliations, expenses, hourly effort tracking, and invoicing where applicable.
Understand Xylem digital technologies and effectively present technological concepts to utility managers.
Architect and deliver sustainable and scalable project‑specific solutions in collaboration with senior managers, key account executives, client solution managers/architects, and product management.
Provide technical scope and costing for proposals.
Develop proficiency in Xylem digital technologies to support client trainings and create training materials for other project managers.
Share and support commercial best practices across the Decision Intelligence Solutions team.
Additional duties as required by organizational needs.
Qualifications
Graduation from a four‑year university with a major in engineering or related field.
Bachelor’s degree and 3 years project management experience, or a postgraduate degree in engineering. Xylem experience or related experience considered.
Proficient with computer hardware and software (Microsoft, SmartSheets, Atlassian).
Familiarity with simulation and/or optimization modeling software (EPA‑SWMM or similar) and geospatial data management software (ESRI or similar) or data architecture and UI/UX projects such as SCADA or cloud‑based platform deployments that combine hardware and software technologies.
Ability to architect client solutions leveraging smart water/wastewater requirements and product knowledge.
Proven project management experience with diverse teams and suppliers.
Demonstrated ability to direct project staff to deliver projects on time, within budget, to quality, and manage interdependencies.
Identify and manage problems, risks, issues, and dependencies affecting project delivery.
Simultaneously manage multiple work streams and work effectively under pressure.
Highly organized, detail‑oriented, structured, yet able to react quickly to change.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; build strong collaborative relationships across departmental boundaries.
Cultural awareness and ability to adapt communication style when working with clients.
Confident, positive, flexible leadership style; network with stakeholders and collaborate with senior managers.
