The Programs and Media Assistant is a part time position reporting to the Director of Education. The Programs + Media Assistant will ensure smooth day to day operations of our Workshops by overseeing equipment inventory and organization, technology updates and troubleshooting, and maintaining student files. The Assistant will be on site during workshops and oversee youth check-in/out; the assistant may occasionally be required to chaperone field trips or assist in the classroom.

Programs

Oversee student check-in and check-out following safety protocols

Coordinate with faculty to ensure they have all equipment necessary for their lessons

Assists in classrooms and on field trips as needed

Media

Conduct software updates, license renewals, and app installations.

Maintain the organization and naming convention of active student files

Ensure student files backed up weekly and shared at the end of the term

Maintain and update “how to” guides and “one sheets” on standards of use

Troubleshoot generic computer and printer malfunctions.

Maintain the organization system of the equipment room.

Oversee equipment inventory ensuring records are up to date

Prepare equipment check outs and process returns, noting and following up on any damages or missing items.

Ensure all workshops have the necessary equipment prior to the first class date

Process new equipment and assist with decommissioning older equipment

Troubleshoot general equipment malfunctions, conduct simple repairs, and advocate for larger repairs or purchases as needed

Assist with printing photographs and artwork for exhibitions, special events, and outreach as needed.

Qualifications
The ideal The Programs and Media Assistant is organized, detail oriented, and a self sufficient troubleshooter. Prior experience working with youth ages 10-18 is required.

Must have experience with Apple computers and software, Adobe Creative Suite, AirTable and Google Drive

Must have knowledge of digital photography and film equipment.

Experience with large format printers is a plus.

Ability to drive a large passenger vehicle is a plus.

The ideal candidate has an interest in media arts and/or arts education. Candidates should be organized and motivated, and be comfortable with working with youth in a community-based setting. Finally, candidates should have a deep appreciation for diverse perspectives, and experiences, and will create a welcoming environment for all youth.

Hours
This is a part-time, non-exempt position with a possibility of additional hours during high demand seasons. During our workshop terms, applicants must be available Tuesday-Thursday 2:30-6:30‑pm and Saturdays 9am-4:30pm approximately February-May and September-December. Outside of these months, there will be a guarantee of 15-20 hours during our regular office hours of Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.

Compensation
This is a part time, non exempt, hourly position starting at $22/hour
