Seasonal Lifeguard – Lunenburg Town Beach
The Town of Lunenburg seeks qualified applicants for the position of Seasonal Lifeguard for the Lunenburg Town Beach.
Job Duties
This position oversees and maintains the safe operation and use of the Town beach, under the direction of the Beach Director. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assuring the waterfront is cleaned upon arrival and when leaving;
Serving as lifeguard, water safety instructor, or beach attendant, as needed;
Enforcing all rules and regulations;
Acts in emergency situations and provides rescue and first aid assistance;
Maintaining good public relations;
Participates in staff orientations, trainings, conditioning, and administrative record keeping;
Other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Must possess valid American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and any other as required by law.
Water Safety Instructor Certification is desirable.
Thorough working knowledge of first aid, CPR and water rescue.
Ability to perform difficult lifesaving duties.
This is a Grade 4 Salary Administration Plan, variable hour work week, non-benefited position; salary range $19.04 - $23.44/hour. Work will commence mid‑May and run through early September.
