
Research Assistant (GYN/ONC)

Job Summary
The Research Assistant performs a wide variety of duties related to research studies directed by the Principal Investigator and other professional staff members. The Research Assistant assists with the needs of the Term Cord Clamping Project, including sending retention materials (birthday cards, holiday cards, etc.) logging appointments, and following up on missed appointments. Responsible for data collection, participant home visits, maintains databases for project, develops database queries, and assists in analyzing data. Reviews relevant literature and assists in the preparation of reports and manuscripts. The incumbent also assists with recruitment and retention of subjects by: attending public events and recruiting at offices, coordinates materials distribution in the community, assists with creation and revisions of marketing materials.
Specifications
High School or GED Required; Associate's Degree Preferred. One year of clinical or technical research experience, including data collection and entry into a computer system desired. Must be organized, demonstrate initiative, function independently, and have strong interpersonal skills. Must be proficient with MS Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, as well as have excellent writing skills. Knowledge of SPSS helpful.
