Training Specialist

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Training, this role focuses on serving as a subject matter expert in the development and delivery of onboarding and continuous improvement training content for the operations business unit. The Training Specialist will develop and maintain expert knowledge in assigned content areas, including processes, procedures, and systems. A successful Training Specialist will conduct training independently and foster an atmosphere of growth and development.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain functional expertise in the development and delivery of training of assigned content area(s)
Serve as facilitator for a variety of training programs
Deliver specific learning opportunities to drive engagement and build organizational capability
Track training program effectiveness and completion rates
Provide high impact training through all available modalities, including virtual asynchronous, virtual live, and in person depending on business need
Partner with the assigned business units to communicate and drive successful unit wide training
Deliver and maintain an integrated training curriculum that supports business priorities and strategies
Assist in evaluating training program effectiveness; utilize evaluation data to recommend changes in instructional objectives, content and methods
Assist in the management and use of an enterprise wide knowledge base
Provide input on prioritizing company-wide training program initiatives
Assist in collecting statistical data, metrics, etc. for administrative/quality improvement purposes as related to training activities and quality assurance reviews
Perform audits of knowledge base articles and email communications for assigned content areas
Monitors the progress of trainees and maintains records training and development activities assessing attendance, certification, assessments, and retraining requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or minimum of 6 years in a student service-related role
Minimum of 1 year of student service experience in APUS Operations (with 2 years preferred)
Minimum of 2 years of training, coaching, or student facing quality assurance
Must have the ability to develop expert knowledge of programs and processes
Excellent verbal and written communications and presentation skills delivered with a confident, persuasive, and inclusive style.
Working knowledge and proficiency in, Microsoft Office Suite, content management software, and Salesforce experience a plus.
