Veterinary Technician - Overnight

BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital in Scottsdale, AZ is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician
Shift:
Overnight 7 PM - 7 AM (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday)
As an Emergency Veterinary Technician:
Calculate basic medical math.
Approach and handle patients with compassion, calmness, and gentleness.
Understand classification of commonly used medications, side effects, and appropriately monitor therapeutic response.
Administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
Perform phlebotomy.
Place a peripheral intravenous catheter in the cephalic vein.
Alert Veterinarian if patient’s status changes or physical exam/monitoring parameters are outside normal ranges.
Perform physical exams; accurately count heart, pulse, capillary refill, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate, and effort.
Intubate patients under guidance of a Level II technician or higher.
Support Veterinarian and client through the euthanasia process.
Read and follow orders written on the treatment sheet accurately and promptly.
