Job Description
Therma, a Legence company, is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer with

years of experience in the HVAC industry. The ideal candidate is a self‑motivated team player who thrives in a fast‑paced collaborative environment. This role is involved in all phases of the design‑build project process, from initial design to construction administration support.
Responsibilities
Design heating, cooling, and ventilation load calculations
Plumbing system design and calculations
Provide excellent design support and engineering expertise to internal and external customers
Layout of mechanical and plumbing systems using AutoCAD and Revit software
Field verification of site conditions as required
Coordination of system designs with other trades
Attend project meetings as required
Identify and resolve design issues, conflicts, and system clashes as required
Maintain and develop customer relationships
Requirements
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Positive attitude, team player, commitment to achieving a common goal
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
Minimum 3 years of engineering experience as a Mechanical Engineer, preferably in the HVAC design‑build environment
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Engineering in Training (EIT) / Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of California (preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and Bluebeam
Knowledge of California Building Code, Title 24, ASHRAE guideline(s) 62.1, 55, 90.1
Knowledge of various HVAC systems, cooling and heating plants, and MEP design
Experience in Project Management, coordination and client relations
Experience in System Basis of Design (BOD) and Sequence of Operation (SOO) development
Experience in building heating and cooling load calculations (Trane Trace, HAP, or equal)
Experience in hydronic and air‑side pressure profile calculations
Salary Range:
$110k-$140k , depending on experience
