Baptist Graduate Nurse Residency Spring 2026
Pensacola, FL, United States and 2 more
Job Description
What You’ll Do
As a Nurse Resident, you’ll provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care tailored to each patient’s condition, symptoms, and treatment plan. You’ll gain real-world experience managing individualized, goal-directed care using the nursing process and principles of primary nursing, all while working within Baptist Health Care’s policies and best practices.
Throughout the program, you’ll build clinical judgment, confidence, and professional skills in a supportive, collaborative environment designed specifically for new nurses.
Responsibilities
How We Support You
We know the transition from student to practicing nurse can feel overwhelming—and you’re not expected to do it alone. Our Nurse Residency Coordinator and nurse educators walk alongside you throughout the residency, providing guidance, encouragement, and access to valuable resources. You’ll also connect with fellow new graduates, creating a built-in support system that helps you feel confident, connected, and supported from day one.
Preceptorship
Your preceptorship is a dedicated, one-on-one experience on your home unit with an experienced nurse who is invested in your success. This immersive learning period bridges the gap between theory and practice, helping you sharpen clinical skills, strengthen nursing judgment, and gain confidence in real patient care situations.
Beyond bedside skills, we focus on you as a professional. Through mentoring, you’ll receive career-focused support that helps you identify goals, develop strengths, and grow in areas where you want to improve. Mentors offer insights, learning opportunities, and encouragement to help shape your future in nursing.
