GovCIO is currently hiring for a Senior Network Operations Center (NOC) Administrator. This role serves as a senior technical authority within the NOC, providing rapid incident response, deep troubleshooting expertise, and proactive system optimization to ensure continuous operational availability. This position will be located in Fort Bragg, NC, and will be an on-site position.

Responsibilities

The Senior Network Operations Center (NOC) Administrator is responsible for monitoring, managing, and sustaining complex, mission-critical network and systems environments across enterprise and forward-deployed operations. This role serves as a senior technical authority within the NOC, providing rapid incident response, deep troubleshooting expertise, and proactive system optimization to ensure continuous operational availability.

Operating with minimal supervision, the Senior NOC Administrator applies advanced technical expertise across networking, systems, and communications platforms while mentoring team members and directly supporting customer mission requirements in high-tempo environments.

NOC Operations & Incident Management

Monitor and manage enterprise and tactical networks to ensure 24/7 operational availability
Rapidly diagnose and resolve complex network, systems, and communications issues across multiple enclaves
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Provide real-time support for emergent operational requirements, including after-hours mission support
Network & Systems Administration

Build, configure, and sustain network nodes from bare metal, including:
Firmware/software upgrades
Secure configuration baselines
Tunnel establishment and validation
Analyze network performance and optimize configurations for maximum throughput, reliability, and resilience
Identify configuration errors and coordinate solutions with engineering and automation teams
Cloud, Virtualization & Automation Integration

Support RHEL-based systems and virtualization platforms (e.g., Cockpit, VM management tools)
Assist in bare-metal provisioning and PXE/Kickstart automation in coordination with engineering teams
Leverage tools such as AWX, Nautobot, and automation frameworks to enhance operational efficiency
Unified Communications (Cisco CUCM / VTC)

Administer Cisco Call Manager (CUCM) environments:
Provision end-user devices, phone numbers, and SIP integrations
Configure VTC systems and troubleshoot voice/video connectivity
Support authentication services (e.g., CAPF, ISE integration) and resolve complex VoIP issues
Encryption & Secure Communications

Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot encryption devices and secure communications systems
Perform firmware updates, key management, and validation of encryption configurations
Diagnose and resolve critical communication failures in mission environments
SATCOM & Transport Support

Support SATCOM and RF-based transport systems, including:
Link establishment and troubleshooting
Spectrum analysis and signal diagnostics
Assist with transport setup and provide technical guidance to field personnel
Customer Support & Mission Integration

Provide direct, hands-on support to customers in both garrison and forward-deployed environments
Deliver remote troubleshooting guidance for field teams to rapidly restore communications
Support installation timelines by ensuring systems are plug-and-play and operationally ready
Monitoring, Tools & Ticketing

Utilize enterprise tools such as:
Splunk (log analysis and monitoring)
ServiceNow (incident and ticket management)
IPAM / Nautobot (device and network management)
Maintain situational awareness of network health and proactively address risks
Documentation & Knowledge Management

Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and how-to guides in platforms such as Confluence and GitLab
Ensure configurations, baselines, and software versions are maintained as a single source of truth
Leadership & Mentorship

Mentor junior NOC personnel and provide technical guidance across teams
Operate independently while aligning with mission priorities and leadership intent
Promote knowledge sharing, training, and continuous improvement across the NOC
Qualifications

High School with 6 - 9 years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

Clearance Required: TS/SCI
Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570/8140 baseline
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Linux Red Hat Certified Systems Admin (RHCSA)
Strong experience with:

Enterprise networking (routing, switching, troubleshooting)
Linux systems (RHEL preferred) and Windows Server environments
Network monitoring and troubleshooting tools

Experience with Cisco technologies (routing, switching, CUCM, VoIP)
Hands-on experience with encryption devices and secure communications systems
Experience supporting tactical, SATCOM, or forward-deployed communications environments
Proficiency with scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python, Bash, Ansible/AWX)
Preferred Skills and Experience

Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience supporting DoD or Federal environments
Familiarity with RMF, STIG compliance, and secure network baselines
Experience with Nautobot, Splunk, ServiceNow, Confluence, GitLab
Understanding of RF/SATCOM theory and transport systems
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
Linux Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
