Job Summary:
This position is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our medical devices including developing, executing, and leading comprehensive verification plans for software embedded within complex medical device systems so that it meets all regulatory requirements and delivers optimal performance.
Job Duties:
Leads the development and execution of software verification plans for medical devices, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations (e.g., FDA, IEC 61010, ISO 14971, IEC 62304).
Analyzes system requirements and translate them into test protocols.
Designs and implements test strategies and methodologies for various system components and functionalities including embedded system control software and web-based user interface software within our medical device(s).
Determines optimal test approaches including manual and automated testing, and software, hardware, and system in the loop testing, to meet project timelines and quality needs.
Performs manual testing and analysis to identify and document potential issues and defects.
Coordinates with project management on verification timelines and readiness.
Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, software, quality) to resolve identified issues and ensures timely closure.
Participates in risk assessments and failure mode analysis (FMEA) to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Maintains accurate and complete documentation of all verification activities, including test plans, reports, and defect tracking.
Contributes to engineering discussions regarding design for testability, maintainability, and quality.
Professionally interacts and maintains effective and open communication with all personnel, vendors, manufacturers, and customers.
Maintains a professional and positive manner and appearance at all times.
Responsible to perform all duties safely and in a manner consistent with the policies and procedures.
Responsible to report all accidents/incidents (e.g., motor vehicle, customer, employee) to the necessary personnel (e.g., Safety Officer, CEO and President).
Adheres to all applicable department, production, and company related Operational, Safety and Human Resources policies and procedures.
Complies with all Federal, State, and local laws, including employment-related laws.

Required Education, Training, Knowledge, and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum 5+ years of experience in system and/or embedded software verification in the medical device industry.
Strong understanding of medical device regulations and quality management systems (e.g., FDA QSR, ISO 13485, IEC 62304).
Proven skills to develop and execute detailed test plans for complex systems at software, hardware, and/or systems levels.
Experience with automated test tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, C++, JavaScript, test frameworks).
Excellent working knowledge of computer systems including MS Office Suites with advanced knowledge of Excel.
