IBM ITX Software Engineer (T2P)
Remote (Candidates must reside in DC, MD, VA, WV, NC, PA, DE, NY, NJ, TX, or FL)
Travel:
~25% (3-4 onsite visits per year to Reston, VA)

10+ years of
IBM Transformation Extender (ITX)
experience with Healthcare EDI (837/834/835/270/271/276/277/999/277CA), strong ITXA & REST integration, Sterling B2Bi/File Gateway, MQ/SOAP/SFTP, DevOps/CI-CD, and ITX upgrades/performance tuning expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and modify ITX maps using Design Studio
Build and maintain Type Trees and mapping structures
Develop mappings for XML, CSV, JSON, Flat File (Positional/Delimited) formats
Support Healthcare EDI transactions including:
837, 834, 835
270/271
276/277
999, 277CA
Integrate ITX with ITXA and REST APIs
Execute and deploy maps using SPE Console, Command Server, Launcher, and Integration Servers
Configure and manage adapters (File, MQ, Database, SOAP)
Perform testing, validation, and deployment of EDI solutions
Support ITX/ITXA installation and product upgrades
Integrate with:
IBM Integration Bus
IBM Sterling B2Bi
IBM Sterling File Gateway
Implement CI/CD pipelines for ITX workflows
Ensure compliance with Healthcare EDI standards
Provide performance tuning, error handling strategies, and mentoring to development teams
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and sprint deliverables
Required Qualifications
10+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Transformation Extender (ITX)
Extensive Healthcare EDI mapping experience
Strong expertise in ITXA and REST-based integration
Experience with MQ, SOAP, S/FTP, HTTP/S, SSL certificates, key management
Experience in DevOps and containerized environments
Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills
Experience with ITX product upgrades and integrations with B2Bi
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in large healthcare payer environments
Prior exposure to enterprise EDI modernization initiatives
Experience mentoring junior developers
SAFe/Agile framework experience
