We're supporting our medical insurance client, Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) in Chicago, IL!! BCBSA is seeking a fully remote SQL Data Analyst with a completed bachelor's degree, along with healthcare industry experience and 8+ years coding in SQL, Python and R Language along with creating Tableau visualization charts. BCBSA is approaching a new project with national insurance programs on recent medical anomalies. In other words, BCBSA is noticing an uptick of insurance claims on new medical symptoms/diseases. The remote SQL Data Analyst is handling 100 - 1000 lines of SQL code, and we're seeking your ability to differentiate statistics from analytical data mining and integration projects. For example, data mining is the exploration of data to derive insights, while statistics is the science of interpreting data (Hevo Data, 2025). The remote SQL Data Analyst will do multiple levels of analytical SQL work and answering to those processes of analysis. This role is heavy in SQL coding, Python, and R Language development for large data sets supporting the distribution of monthly Tableau visualization charts/reports. You would join BCBSA's Team of two active Data Analysts, handling hundreds of SQL data points into Tableau visualization charts related to demographics of U.S. medical insurance claims. Not only will you cleanse and aggregate SQL data, but you will also deliver Tableau visualizations in client-facing MS Teams video presentations.
Our client BCBSA is a national association of 33 independent, community-based and locally operated BCBS companies. The association owns and manages the BCBS trademarks and names in more than 170 countries around the world. Also, BCBSA provides national account healthcare access to Fortune 500 corporate industries including financial, supply chain and others.
This is a six-month remote contract (w/ possible extension), starting June 23, 2025!! The interview process is two rounds of MS Teams video meetings beginning with BCBSA HR Department interview, then you will meet with the other BCBSA Data Analysts and Project Management Staff. Upon selection for the role, BCBSA will send their company encrypted hardware (laptop) to your residence before starting the position.
Remote work schedule: 9 am - 5 pm CST, M-F (37.5 hours per week; 30-minute lunch)
