Role Summary
A Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to help organizations make informed business decisions. This role focuses on transforming raw data into actionable insights through reporting, visualization, and statistical analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Reporting
Analyze large datasets to identify:
Trends, patterns, and anomalies
Develop and maintain:
Reports, dashboards, and KPIs
Use tools such as:
Microsoft Power BI
Tableau
Data Extraction & Querying
Extract and manipulate data using:
SQL from databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
Perform:
Data aggregation, filtering, and transformation for reporting
Data Visualization
Create intuitive dashboards and visual reports
Present insights using charts, graphs, and storytelling techniques
Actimize Canonical Data Model (CDM)
Business Insights & Decision Support
Translate data findings into:
Business insights and recommendations
Work closely with stakeholders to:
Understand business requirements
Provide data-driven solutions
Data Quality & Validation
Ensure:
Accuracy and consistency of data
Perform:
Data validation and reconciliation checks
Collaboration
Work with:
Data engineers and IT teams for data availability
Business teams for requirement gathering
Leadership for reporting and insights
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
Strong proficiency in:
SQL
Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables)
Experience with:
Data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)
Basic knowledge of:
Data warehousing concepts
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with:
Python (Pandas, NumPy) or R for data analysis
Exposure to:
Cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services
Big data tools like Apache Spark (basic level)
Domain Knowledge (Nice to Have)
Understanding of:
Business intelligence and analytics
