Duolingo Score Team:

The Duolingo Score team builds the experiences that help learners understand, celebrate, and share their progress across languages. On this team, you will shape core features that make our scoring system more transparent and motivating. This includes score detail pages and feed moments to sharing flows that bring achievements into the real world.

We’re looking for Android engineers who love crafting polished mobile experiences and care deeply about data-informed product decisions. If you are excited to bridge the gap between technical execution and product impact to make learner progress feel tangible and rewarding, we want to hear from you!

You will...

Collaborate on software projects with product design and backend aspects

Develop, release, and maintain native Android application features in Kotlin

Mentor and set technical direction for junior engineers on the team

✅ You have...

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field

Programming experience in Kotlin on Android

The ability to communicate technical issues effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders

⭐ Exceptional candidates will have...

Strong programming experience building reactive Android apps

Demonstrated self-direction, with a desire both to learn new techniques and mentor others

Experience designing clean and maintainable APIs

Experience writing unit tests and testable code

We post a multi-level salary range for all of our roles.

This is not inclusive of the rest of our awesome portfolio that includes equity compensation and world-class benefits. Our salary ranges are the same for all US locations. Your recruiter can share more details about the range for a specific level during the hiring process. The actual salary within the range is determined by many factors including but not limited to, skills, experience, education, and internal equity.

Salary Range:

$177,700 — $240,400 USD
