Description: We are seeking a skilled Linux OpenShift Engineer to support the design, deployment, and management of containerized applications in enterprise environments.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Linux system administration, OpenShift, and Kubernetes, along with strong CI/CD and scripting capabilities.
Linux administration, Red Hat OpenShift & Kubernetes orchestration, Docker/Helm containerization, CI/CD (Jenkins), Bash/Python scripting, AWS/Azure integration, and cluster upgrades/migrations with monitoring via Prometheus/Splunk.
Top Skills
• Strong Linux system administration experience.
• Deep expertise in Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Experience with container technologies (Docker, Helm, Kubernetes).
• Docker and Kubernetes are foundational to OpenShift piece of the role and how the platform operates. Helm simplifies Kubernetes deployments in OpenShift by packaging them into reusable charts.
o Candidates with this expertise will be the best profile fit.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and integration with OpenShift.
• This position will be responsible for upgrades, migrations, and ongoing support.
Ideal Candidate Profile
• The ideal candidate is proficient in OpenShift administration and would not require a lot of technical onboarding.
Essential Job Functions
• Administer and maintain Linux systems with a focus on performance, reliability, and security.
• Design, deploy, and manage Red Hat OpenShift clusters and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Groovy.
• Work with container technologies including Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes.
• Integrate OpenShift with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
• Automate tasks and processes using Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.
• Implement and monitor system performance using tools like Prometheus and Splunk.
• Apply GitOps principles and manage DevSpaces and OpenShift security configurations.
Requirements
• Strong experience in Linux system administration.
• Deep expertise in Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes (no certifications required).
• Proficiency in Jenkins and CI/CD pipeline development (Jenkins experience preferred but similar tools will be accepted).
• Familiarity with AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
• AWS or Azure certification a plus (not required)
• 5+ years experience
