This role is still open. We have had several interviews, the candidates have been more Linux Support than Linux Engineers.

Hybrid Onsite Required -- Woonsocket RI * local candidates only please, manager does not want to see relocation options at this time! *
Duration:
Start as soon as possible, 6 months to start + extensions if it's a mutual fit this could be open ended, and they also require the option/ability/interest to convert FTE down the road but there is no plan within the first 6 months at this time to convert.
Interview Process:
1-2 rounds on video
Must Haves:
Bash/Python scripting - at least intermediate
Configure/Install/Admin - Debian based Ubuntu systems and RHEL
Hardware management - firmware, OOB (iLO), storage configuration (LVM)
KVM Hypervisor virtualization
Docker (EE & CE), create containers, docker-compose (Kubernetes, docker swarm is a plus)
Linux Benchmarking, Performance Testing
SystemD and Linux Services (NTP, DNS, Squid, NFS, iptables)
Linux middleware services Apache, MySQL
Filesystem setup and management
System Security i.e., MSB, security scanning tools (e.g. Qualys), firewall, PKI
Pluses/Preferred To Have:
CI/CD - Jenkins pipeline, GIT
Ansible
Linux Monitoring & Alerting
Linux Benchmarking, Performance Testing
Server Capacity Planning
Experience implementing HA environments.
Experience with other Hypervisor hardware/software
Experience in Hybrid Cloud Platforms i.e OpenShift, OpenStack
Experience: 7+ Years Linux configuration/Engineering and scripting
Day-to-day:
These Linux Engineers will be responsible to act as Linux engineering subject matter expert on projects and business support requests of all sizes, from initiation through successful completion.
They should be able to provide multiple solution approaches and be able to perform the engineering and drive the development required to implement any selected option.
In alignment with Store Systems Management, they will problem solve and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.
In addition, the Linux Engineers will provide Store Systems Management with regular status updates, continuous process improvement, and completion of customer satisfaction initiatives.
