We seek a committed, faith‑filled, academically qualified leader who is able to embody and advance the mission of the school as an apostolic work of the Society of Jesus and serve as the Controller.
Qualifications
CPA or CMA strongly preferred
BA/BS required; MBA preferred
Minimum 10 years of accounting experience with 5 years of management experience
Able to work after hours and/or weekends when necessary.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary to effectively interact with executive leadership, faculty, staff and parents.
Strong experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Power Point) and/or Google Suite (Sheets, Doc, Slides, gmail)
Working knowledge of Blackbaud financial (Financial Edge) and development (Raisers Edge) software, a plus
Loyola Academy graduate or graduate of another Jesuit secondary school or university a plus

Hours
Year round full time position;
At least 40 hours per week, less Loyola's generous holiday schedule
Regular working day is 7:30am to 4pm, with a lunch break
Weekend and evening hours required as needed
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the maintenance and management of the general ledger, budget, fixed assets, financial investments, accounts payable and receivable, and financial reporting
Responsible for the coordination, preparation, and reporting of the school's annual budget
Responsible for the preparation, reporting, and presentation of the quarterly and annual financial results to the Board's Finance & Audit Committee
Essential Duties
Maintain and manage all accounting and financial activities
Oversee Business Office operations, with oversight of Staff Accountant and Accounts Payable Coordinator.
Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts
Coordinate and support the outside auditors in preparing the annual financial audit
Maintain and establish a system of internal control policies and procedures
Track and report all of Loyola's financial investments
Coordinate with other staff leaders on risk management programs and policies
Coordinate with the Development Services staff for gifts processing
Assist and support the Development Services staff in the operation and maintenance of the Endowment Solutions database of donor gifts and funds.
Participate actively in meetings of the Board's Finance & Audit Committee as key staff liaison
Recommend and implement organization-wide cost reduction programs.
Participate actively in exchanges of best practices with counterparts at other similar institutions
Participate in business-related student programming such as DECA, Entrepreneurship Club, and Finance Club, as available and needed.
Perform other duties assigned by the Vice President of Finance & Operations
Base Salary
Base salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. For this position, it will be between $130,000 and $165,000 annually. Base salary is paid semi-monthly, five days in arrears, and reviewed annually, with changes effective each July 1. Limited opportunities also exist for stipends for supporting certain school activities outside of regular working hours.
