Job Summary
The night auditor is responsible for maintaining a successful guest experience for all guests entering the hotel. Duties include assisting overnight requests, balancing accounts from the day shift, and overseeing property management tasks during the shift.
Responsibilities
Handle end‑of‑day bookkeeping, auditing, and account reconciliation.
Oversee the property as manager on duty during the shift.
Process arriving guests’ details, including payment information, and allocate rooms.
Make travel arrangements and reservations for guests, including entertainment, cinemas, and sightseeing tours.
Provide guests with information about hotel procedures, policies, facilities, and local tourism.
Handle all customer complaints and queries.
Take messages for visitors and issue receipts.
Calculate guest bills and coordinate special requests such as laundry delivery.
Ensure the safety and security of all guests and maintain adherence to credit card security requirements.
Maintain all training requirements as set forth by the General Manager.
Assist guests with safety deposit box forms and keys as outlined by GM.
Perform other duties as assigned by FOM, GM, or Sales Manager.
Wear a provided uniform and nametag at all times on the property.
Perform routine cleaning of the front desk area, including dusting, mopping, and vacuuming.
Maintain equipment and supply inventory, and coordinate repairs or replacements.
Assist other employees with tasks such as handling dirty linen or aiding housekeeping.
Report lost‑and‑found items in accordance with hotel procedures.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prefer at least one year of related experience.
Basic working knowledge of computers and word processing.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organization and time‑management skills.
Physical ability to walk and climb/descend stairs approximately 20% of the time.
Capacity to frequently kneel, reach, crawl, and twist torso as needed.
Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds without assistance.
Maintains high standards of personal hygiene and appearance.
Flexible to work a part‑time schedule, AS NEEDED, typically 11 pm to 7 am.
