Key Responsibilities
Design and implement automated unit, integration, end to end, and stress tests for both refactored components and new UI functionality, using existing internal frameworks and approved tools (e.g., Playwright, Postman).
Enhance current automation frameworks where necessary, aligned with established engineering standards.
Collaborate with backend and frontend engineers to test full workflows across UI, APIs, and microservices.
Participate in code and test reviews, contributing to testability, best practices, and engineering quality.
Perform limited exploratory testing early in the cycle until automation coverage is established.
Ensure automated tests integrate into CI/CD pipelines to support rapid, reliable delivery across both the refactoring programme and greenfield portal build.
Apply familiarity with Post Trade and Collateral Management lifecycle events (e.g., allocations, confirmations, settlements, margining) to design realistic and business aligned automated tests.
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
10+ years of combined software engineering and QA automation experience, consistent with seniority expectations across all roles.
Strong hands-on automation skills using Java or JavaScript/TypeScript, especially with Playwright, Postman, REST/JSON testing, and browser/UI automation.
Solid understanding of modern web systems (React frontends, REST APIs, microservices) and ability to test full-stack workflows.
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Comfortable operating in environments without a separate QA team, where quality is owned collectively.
Strong debugging, analysis, and communication skills.
Demonstrated experience testing systems within financial institutions, with exposure to trading, post-trade, collateral, or risk-related platforms in regulated environments.
Nice to Have
Experience testing cloud-hosted applications (AWS preferred).
Exposure to Docker/Kubernetes environments.
Experience with performance or load testing tools.
