Job Description/High-Level Task Assignment:
Network Engineer for Network Operations. Site Support. Working with Network Infrastructure, patch management, upgrades, and configuration of Firewalls, Switches and Routers. Supporting multiple Customer sites with call in issues.
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Engineer with a strong background in Cisco routing and Fortigate firewalls. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of hands-on experience in network engineering, with a focus on BGP routing, firewalling, and troubleshooting. You will be responsible for porting Cisco router configs to a Fortigate configuration so that we can decommission EOL Cisco routers.
Responsibilities • Configuration Porting: Port configurations from Cisco routers to Fortigate Firewalls, to include interfaces, static, OSPF & BGP routing and VPNs.
• FortiGate Firewalls: Configuration and troubleshooting of FortiGate VPNs, Firewall Policies and routing. • Cisco Routing: Experience with Cisco routing technologies is mandatory, to include BGP, OSPF, route-maps, prefix-lists and route redistribution.
• Project Implementation: Support the implementation of the ported configuration.
• Documentation: Provide documentation of the ported configurations to do a hand off NetOps for actual.
Qualifications /Experience
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in network engineering, with extensive hands-on experience in Cisco switching and routing, Fortigate firewalls.
• Strong experience with BGP routing and Cisco Routing
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and implement comprehensive network solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and vendors. Certifications
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher. CCNP is preferred.
• Fortinet Certified Associate (FCA) or higher. FCP is preferred.
