Job Description

Software Requirements Engineer
Pay: $55-$65/hr
Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Work with a cross functional team of internal and third-party resources to institute software system and derived requirements and document best practices for software requirements generation and management within the organization.
Coordinate external teams to develop, implement, and maintain software requirements for multiple projects.
Ensure software requirements and traceability are following contract guidelines and procedures, and that validated software is compliant with product specifications.
Develop and run requirements models with support from third-party experts.
Work to implement procedures to obtain and maintain CMMI and CMMC compliance and certification.
Interact with cross functional internal teams including Supply Chain, IS&S, Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering.
Interact with outside vendors, partners, and customers.
Knowledge and Skills

DOORS Next Gen, IBM Jazz experience and the ability to derive software requirements.
Experience collaborating on programs with internal and external software requirements teams.
Experience developing and documenting derived requirements and models for software.
Experience approving compliant software that meets the developed requirements.
Experience with MBSE preferred.
Experience with CMMI and CMMC preferred.
Experience working in requirements software such as CAMEO.
Ability to utilize Microsoft suite of tools to provide information and updates to upper management.
Related degree in Computer Science, BSEE, or Systems Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to obtain security clearance.
Physical Effort

Sight: Must be able to regularly read computer screens, reports, and various documents with detail and clarity to safely and efficiently accomplish work tasks. This includes regular use of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Hearing: Must be able to regularly hear well enough to communicate.
Working Conditions

Physical Location: This position operates between an office and manufacturing plant environment and may be assigned to specific shifts or hours. The employee must be able to perform job functions in environments with varying and difficult conditions such as extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, working at heights, and exposure to constant or intermittent loud noises.
Teamwork: The position works with others to ensure efficiency in the workplace.
Listening Skills: Must understand how to use machinery properly and safely to prevent accidents and ensure accurate task completion.
Ability to Follow Instructions: Managers assign tasks and responsibilities which may vary; this role must be able to follow instructions competently.
Methodical Approach: Production lines follow defined processes, requiring a methodical approach to ensure tasks are completed in the correct order for smooth operations.
Concentration: The role may require performing similar or repetitive tasks, demanding strong concentration for quality control purposes. The environment is often fast paced, requiring consistent focus.
Travel Requirements

Up to 25% travel may be required.
