Language Partners (Powered by Lango) is looking for fluent bilinguals located in Maine to provide in-person interpreting services in a variety of settings. By joining us as an independent contractor, you’ll play an essential role in helping individuals overcome language barriers in healthcare, education, legal services, and more.

Requirements
Must be fluent in English and at least one other language
If you lack formal interpreter training, you’ll be required to pass a language assessment
Must have valid U.S. work authorization (I-9 eligibility)
High school diploma or equivalent required
Willing and able to complete a background check and drug screening
For medical assignments, must provide up-to-date vaccination records: MMR, Varicella, COVID-19, TB test, Flu shot
Primarily available for in-person appointments in Maine
Prior interpreting experience or training is a plus, but not required
This is independent contractor work (1099 status). Contractors are responsible for obtaining and providing required documents such as drug screens, background checks, and medical records.
