Primary Location: United States of America – OHIO – Franklin County – Columbus
Compensation: $24.16 per hour
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Job Duties
Maintain and update inmate files in the DOTS/DOTS Portal computer system by computing and posting inmate sentences, additional sentences, earned credit, jail time credit, prior prison credit and parole eligibility.
Process admission documents of all inmates entering the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction by reviewing court records for accuracy and missing information.
Maintain correspondence with other agencies and courts for verification of documents and inquiries.
Review inmate records to ensure the release of inmate from prison is appropriate.
Review records for compliance with registration laws and DNA testing requirements.
Operate Offender Watch and computer terminals to receive and transmit confidential information.
Research LEADS for pending warrants and detainers.
Coordinate pickup arrangements with detaining authorities.
Obtain reporting instructions for inmates being released under supervision.
Adjust certified release date by earned credit to justify correct release date.
Enter TC and parole release dates as directed.
Prepare release of authorization documents for supervisory approval.
Ensure release authorizations are provided to the prisons for timely release of inmates.
Enter information in the DOTS Portal and update and correct as needed.
Run various reports in the DOTS Portal and Microsoft software.
Maintain inmate legal files by updating the file with accurate information, filing all incoming documents and comparing release date to ensure accuracy.
Maintain and update inmate records by scanning information to OnBase document management system.
Enter appropriate status and reason codes into the DOTS Portal.
Respond to inmate inquiries.
Open, sort, and distribute mail.
Complete other bureau functions as assigned.
Qualifications
Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and percentages, and competency in reading, writing, and speaking common English vocabulary.
12 months of training or 12 months of experience in processing, reviewing, and preparing adult correctional inmate or juvenile offender records and applicable state or departmental procedures, rules, and laws.
Or 9 months of experience as a Correction Records Management Officer, 63231.
Or equivalent to the minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
