Job Description
Teacher, High School Integrated Social Studies/Government
Starting Date: 2026-2027 School Year
Salary: Per the Board of Education approved salary pay scale
Reports To: Amy Tietz - Academic Supervisor
Work Week/Year: As per board-adopted calendar
Minimum Requirements
A valid teaching license in Social Studies (7-12) issued by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce
Any additional qualifications required by the Wayne County Schools Career Center Board of Education
BCI and FBI criminal records results less than one-year old must be submitted prior to initial employment and as required thereafter
Basic Functions
To provide effective standards-based instruction. This responsibility involves preparation and planning, both long range and immediate; understanding and applying effective professional teaching methods; and developing and maintaining effective pupil, parent, and community relationships. Special attention must be given to preparing students to pass the Government End of Course Exam.
Desirable Qualifications
A valid Intervention Specialist License issued by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce is also preferred
Prior experience working with Special Education students
Highly organized and committed to planning engaging and wide-ranging instructional activities
Focused on long-term professional growth with intentional and continuous refinement of lessons aimed at fostering higher-order thinking
Committed to ensuring ongoing collaborative communication with parents and the related professional community
Ability to work independently while seeking advice and feedback when needed
Demonstrate a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality in all matters related to student and staff information
Job Requirements
Bachelor degree preferred.
Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
