Position Title
Civil Engineer

Description
As a Civil Engineer or Designer, you will integrate the process of document production with a more detailed understanding of design and systems components. This position will be exposed to Civil and water/wastewater design along with calculations, specifications, and an expanded understanding of codes with a continuum advanced practice of three‑dimensional AutoCAD and Civil 3D and production of site design. A Civil Engineer or Designer of this level will have the ability to take small to medium sized projects from conception to final design with little input from a senior engineer.

Position Salary Range
The expected salary range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000 annually.

Civil Engineer Required Qualifications

4 to 10 years of civil engineering project experience

ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited Civil Engineering degree

Preferred Professional Engineering License in the State of job posting or other states or equivalent experience

Advanced knowledge and skills of AutoCAD Civil 3D, proficient with WaterCAD, Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis, ArcGIS, as well as Bluebeam, Outlook, Microsoft Office. Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Proven ability to work with engineering concepts in real world applications

The ability to work independently as a project engineer on various projects

Strong technical writing skills, including reports and memorandums

The ability to take small to medium sized projects from conception to final design with little input from a senior engineer

Position Responsibilities

Prepare civil project plans, drawings, and specifications using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office

Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other disciplines to produce preliminary concepts and design alternatives

Complete cost estimates and research codes and/or jurisdictional requirements

Develop strong client relationships and participate in internal/external project meetings

Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and memorandums

Perform construction administration, including field observation and documentation

Support cross‑disciplinary design teams across multiple office locations, collaborating with architects, engineers, and business professionals

Things to Note
Actual pay will be determined based on the candidate's years of experience, licensure status, location, level of proficiency, and other job‑related factors (as permitted by law). This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis. Cushing Terrell will not sponsor applicants for work visas.

The majority of the time, a person in this role will be sitting in an office with limited physical requirements. This may require individuals to bend, stretch, twist, and reach.
