Position:
School Nurse (Position Available Starting 2026-2027 School Year)
Salary:
Grade 68: $4,456.19 monthly – Starting Salary
Deadline Date for Receiving Applications:

General Duties:
Collaborate with the school’s administrative staff to assist in the planning and implementation of the total school health program including activities related, but not limited to the following six basic health services areas:
Preventing and responding to communicable disease outbreaks.
Developing and implementing plans for emergency medical assistance for students and supervising specialized clinical services and associated health teaching or students with chronic conditions and other special health needs.
Providing oversight and medication administration and associated health teaching for other school staff who provide this service.
Providing or arranging for routine health assessments, such as vision, hearing, or dental screening and follow-up of referrals.
Assuring that mandated health-related activities are completed.
Qualifications:
Required: A valid license, in good standing, to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
Required: Current CPR/BLS Certification from an approved provider.
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Required: Two years of experience as a registered nurse in a hospital or health clinic or Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or the National Board for Certification of School Nurses.
