We are seeking a skilled Oncology RN to assist in the safe and accurate delivery of Insulin Potentiation Therapy (IPT) alongside the IPT practitioner. Responsibilities include administering IPT treatments, supporting patients during sessions, answering questions, and ensuring a comfortable, reassuring environment. Key Responsibilities
Prepares IPT treatment IVs accurately and in accordance with protocol.
Maintains a clean, organized, and distraction-free treatment area; completes equipment setup/cleanup.
Ensures patient chart is present before treatment or writing orders to review history and labs.
Administers IPT treatments as directed by the APRN and per standard protocol.
Documents all treatments, observations, and patient responses clearly in the EMR.
Responds immediately to patient emergencies by alerting the APRN or appropriate leadership.
Maintains professional appearance and demeanor at all times, in and outside the clinic.
Communicates promptly and effectively with the APRN regarding patient needs or concerns.
Demonstrates kindness and professionalism with staff, patients, and vendors.
Follows safety, legal, and procedural standards to ensure a secure work environment.
Maintains strict patient confidentiality in all clinic and common areas.
Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN) preferred
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Able to maintain composure in fast-paced, emotionally charged environments
Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Strong organizational and time management skills
Collaborative team player with a patient-centered approach
Education and/or Experience
Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing (BSN or MSN) a plus
Previous nursing experience in oncology or a related medical field strongly preferred
Familiarity with cancer treatment protocols and integrative care approaches a plus
Language Skills
Must speak English. Must have excellent interactive communication skills, making patients feel comfortable and at ease.
Physical Demands of Position
While performing the duties of this job, you must be able to stand for periods of up to 7 hours at a time while caring for patients. Delivering infusions requires both being seated and standing as well as the ability to assist patients with physical difficulties into and out of their chair. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
