Responsibilities
A Day in the Life
Be part of the only
dedicated stroke unit in northern Michigan , a 29-bed private room unit specializing in the care of patients with neurologic deficits.
As part of a
Comprehensive Stroke Center (CSC) designation , we care for a wide range of complex neurological conditions, including:
Ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes
Seizure disorders
Headaches and mood disorders
Rare and complex neurologic syndromes
Post-operative neurosurgical care (e.g., thrombectomies, TNK, craniotomies, VP shunts)

Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Michigan
Passion for neurology and high‑acuity care
BLS Certification
ACLS preferred
NIH Stroke Scale Certification (to be obtained during unit orientation)
Experienced RNs and new grads with a strong interest in neuro

Additional Information
Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella. MHC also requires all employees to receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.
